The Hermetic Brotherhood

What is Hermeticism?

Hermeticism (or Hermetism) is an esoteric spiritual and philosophical tradition that some believe may be traced to ancient Egypt and the writings of Hermes Trismegistus ("thrice-greatest Hermes").

Origin

Hermetism traces its origin to a prisca theologia, a doctrine that teaches the existence of a single, true theology that is the original and pure source of all religious and spiritual teachings, and was given to humanity directly from God in the most ancient times. This doctrine is intimately related to that of the perennial philosophy, a periodic manifestation or unveiling of the teaching.

The Three Pillars

The Hermetic Brotherhood teaches the Three Pillars of Hermeticism:

Alchemy, a philosophical, spiritual and, occasionally, a physical art and science of evolutionary transmutation of body, soul and spirit, "from lead to gold." The practice of Alchemy has long been shrouded in mystery and secrecy, and its practice leads to the discovery of the Philosopher's Stone and the creation of the Elixir of Life.

Astrology, the study of the planets and the stars as a means of discovering the hidden pattern of the Universe ordained by God, and their influence upon humanity and nature.

Theurgy and Thaumaturgy, the invocation of higher powers for the purpose of working wonders or miracles; Ceremonial or High Magic, "White Magic" as opposed to "Black Magic" (which does not refer to skin color but rather to magic worked for either good or evil purposes).
